The race is held on open and rural roads with close to 2,000 feet of elevation gain throughout the course. Many areas include blind turns for both runners and vehicles. Runners will run on the left side of the road, and must practice road safety along the entirety of the route. Although there have been only minor injuries in the past it is possible a serious injury could occur. Because parts of the course are not paved, and in some more remote areas, it is possible that an injured runner might have to wait more than 15 minutes for emergency medical care. Emergency medical services will be on call during the race. However, please do NOT enter this race if you are not prepared to accept the risks associated with this course.
